Senior SDET (Data Collection, Annotation and QA)

ABOUT US brings state-of-the-art artificial intelligence to the edge. XNOR’s platform allows companies to run complex deep learning algorithms, formerly restricted to the cloud, locally on a range of devices including mobile phones, drones, and wearables. This new, highly scalable approach ensures complete privacy of data, eliminates the need for connectivity, and significantly reduces memory load and power demands, all without compromising accuracy or performance. XNOR is a venture-funded startup, founded on award-winning research conducted at the University of Washington and the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence. XNOR’s industry-leading technology is used by global corporations in aerospace, automotive, retail, photography, and consumer electronics.

As a startup, we never shoehorn people into fixed roles. At Xnor, there is no hard line between machine learning, engineering, and testing. We expect our testers and engineers to understand how deep learning works and our research scientists to be able to code. This shared understanding results in deep collaborations that enable our team to rapidly develop novel models and optimized infrastructures of the highest production quality.

Xnor’s machine learning technology requires world-class datasets with high-quality annotation to train AI models. We are looking for SDETs to work with our product team in support of Xnor’s data collection, annotation, and quality assurance pipeline. As an SDET on the Xnor team, you will have the unique opportunity to be part of a startup team with close ties to the research community at the University of Washington and the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence. You will be responsible for building quality tooling and infrastructure across different hardware platforms. Our ideal team member has a solid testing background, attention to detail, and finds creative ways to test quality and performance. We value team members that can quickly solve immediate QA needs, including manual tasks, while working towards long term solutions.

  • Support the Data Collection and QA Team by any means necessary. This usually means building software but also means being scrappy and taking part in manual tasks
  • Validate, test, and measure performance regressions in Xnor's solutions
  • Run comprehensive model training experiments in support of Xnor’s ML pipeline
  • Design systems to store, version, and archive Xnor’s datasets
  • Accelerate software systems for data collection and annotation
  • Communicate quality metrics to team leaders
  • Liaise with Product and Platform Teams to develop best practices for quality assurance
  • Build customer prototypes and guide release criteria
